Is Government following the mafia template?

From all outward appearances it looks like Government on all levels are following the patterns and ways of the old style Mafioso families with the only real major differences being Government is much more dangerous and greedy! Government, unlike the old mafia, is more powerful and is able to make its own laws, controls media, controls all of the Judicial Legal System, controls all of the monetary system, controls transportation, and has control over all the military and networks of trained black op assassins. So what we can see so far is that Governments on all levels have apparently built on and refined the old criminality, Mafioso, ways into the most powerful and profitable organization, second to none.
 
Here are just a few prime examples of Mafia style Government controlled greed. =

1. Gambling - was illegal now government controlled
2. Alcohol – Government controlled and taxed
3. Extortion – Lose property if property taxes not paid
4. Protection – Pay income taxes or lose property – go to prison
5. Businesses – Pay business tax or many different penalties
6. Prostitution – Government ran in Nevada
7. Union Vice – Government in bed with UAW
8. Racketeering – Buying votes in the Congress and House
   

This list could go on almost indefinitely but you get the general idea and must form your own opinion on whether your government is there for you or if it is just another glorified criminal operation out for profit and power. Incidentally one might also note that at one time or another all of the above examples were used as criminal charges against the mafia families to eliminate them from being competition by the Government!
